You're invited to bring Wise Terrace to life

Published on Friday, 11 February 2022 at 3:59:04 PM

Community members are invited to attend a co-design workshop this month, part of the Town’s South Hedland Place Plan priority to bring Wise Terrace to life.

The Town is seeking the community’s ideas for activating Wise Terrace’s public spaces, building strong local business partnerships and facilitating a safe environment to play, work and visit.

Insights garnered at the workshops will guide the design for the closure of Wise Terrace for the month of August. Outcomes may include public space and streetscape upgrades, art projects, events and community and business services.

The first workshop will be held from 5pm to 7pm, Thursday 24 February at South Hedland Town Square and the second workshop will be held from 10am to 12pm, Friday 25 February at Lotteries House.

Mayor Peter Carter encouraged local residents, community groups and businesses to attend a workshop this month.

“The Town is coordinating co-design workshops this month, where you can come along and share your ideas on how to bring Wise Terrace in South Hedland to life.

“People have said they’d like us to create a natural, cultural and activated town centre feel. Wise Terrace is convenient in terms of shops and amenities, but we want to make it more comfortable and an oasis space.

“Co-designing is about making sure the community has a seat at the table, with the workshops giving you the chance to shape the future of Wise Terrace.”
