Town of Port Hedland Action Plan Banner

Every two years the Town of Port Hedland runs the MARKYT Community Scorecard. This is an opportunity for Hedland to have its say on how the Town is performing.

The information is crucial to us understanding how we can best deliver services and support to our community.

The first MARKYT Community Scorecard was run in 2021 and more than 1,000 people had their say on how we were doing. The Scorecard was run again in 2023 and more than 1,300 provided responses. Reports are available below.

Spotlight On action plan

The Town of Port Hedland is developing the Spotlight On action plan to demonstrate its commitment to progress in three key areas; Leadership, Advocacy and Liveability.

  • Leadership – Hedland told us it wanted to see improved leadership including a clearer vision, transparency and understanding of community needs. We have a range of actions planned to lift our performance in this area, and we’ve come up with some new initiatives as well.
  • Advocacy – the community wants to see changes in areas that are typically managed by State or Federal Government. We’re stepping up our advocacy and lobbying efforts to support increased support for housing, education, childcare and healthcare in Hedland.
  • Liveability – people want Hedland to be more attractive and liveable. There are lots of things going on in this space, so we’ll keep you regularly updated with our progress.

The Town will be regularly reporting on our progress on the Spotlight On action plan throughout 2024. These updates will be provided on this page. If you have any questions, please email council@porthedland.wa.gov.au
