Hairdressers and Barbers
A hairdresser is any person, including a barber, who shaves, cuts, trims, dresses, waves, curls, stains or dyes the hair of any person. Safe disposal of sharps equipment, appropriate handling of single-use items, adequate cleaning and disinfection processes for reusable items and adequate health and hygiene of the entire establishment overall are essential to prevent the risk of infectious disease transmission to members of the public. Head lice control procedures are also important within hairdressing establishments in order to prevent the spread of the parasite.
