The Town of Port Hedland and BHP Present the Sunset Food Markets

The Town's Sunset Food Markets are held at West End's Marapikurrinya Park and feature food vendors, family friendly activities, live music by local acoustic musicians and a market bar.

The final market for the year will be on Friday, 14 October.

The event series is presented by the Town of Port Hedland and BHP, and event managed by PPP Events.

The markets are held under ambient festoon lighting in the park, providing visitors with the opportunity to enjoy a selection of delicious food options as the ships go by in the port.

Where are the Sunset Food Markets?

The Sunset Food Markets will be run at Port Hedland's Marapikurrinya Park, located at 4 Richardson St – Click the map below to start navigating to location.

Will the Markets impact parking in the area?

Yes, the Marapikurrinya Park car park (below) will be closed from 7am to 12 midnight on the days the markets are held. Drivers in the area should be cautious of increased foot traffic during event times. Community members utilising the park and attending the markets are encouraged to use street parking on Richardson Street and surrounding areas.

How much does it cost to attend?

Entry into the Sunset Food Markets is free, however the cost of food and drinks is determined by food vendor operators.

Will there be something other than food available?

Yes, there will be live music, kids' activities and a market bar to enjoy. There is also the play ground for kids to enjoy. 

Can I trade at the event?

Yes! There are opportunities to trade, as well as fundraise, at the events.

Even though COVID-19 restrictions have eased across WA, it is still vitally important for community members to keep up the work which has helped regional WA flatten the COVID curve. Please remember to abide by these key points:

  • Cover coughs and sneezes with a closed elbow
  • Practice good hand hygiene by using hand wash and sanitiser stations
  • Do not attend Town events if you are unwell
