APPLICATION FOR DEVELOPMENT APPROVAL FOR EXTENSION OF POWER STATION AND PASTORAL – LOT 255 (NO. 53) BOODARIE STATION ACCESS ROAD, BOODARIE WA 6722
The Town of Port Hedland has received a development application for the extension of the power station on Lot 255 (No.53) Boodarie Station Access Road, Boodarie.
The proposed development included:
- Installation of high-efficiency gas fired reciprocating engines;
- Engine auxiliary systems including exhaust, ventilation, lubrication, cooling, gas conditioning, fire protection and etc.;
- Switch room(s), control room(s) and other ancillary infrastructure;
- Extensions to the existing workshop, office and warehouse facilities;
- Connections to existing PHPS systems including electrical, controls, gas, water and fire protection systems;
- Civil works including foundations and extension of the existing bench and internal access roads to accommodate the new facilities.

APPLICATION FOR DEVELOPMENT APPROVAL FOR TRANSMISSION LINES – LOT 255 ON DEPOSITED PLAN 192056, LOT 1505 AND 1507ON DEPOSITED PLAN 42325 AND LOT 1499 ON DEPOSITED PLAN 404497
The Town of Port Hedland has received a development application for the transmission line connecting the power station on lot 255 on deposited plan 192056, lot 1505 and 1507on deposited plan 42325 and lot 1499 on deposited plan 404497.
The proposed works for the development included:
- 7-meters long high voltage electrical transmission line;
- Temporary clearing for construction/laydown areas;
- Clearing for installation of tower footings and unsealed access tracks;
- Installation and stringing of either;
- Transmission towers with an indicative height of 40-70 m and typical span between towers of 300-500m;
- Poles with an indicative height of 17-35 m and a span of 100-300m;
- Short, underground sections requiring trenching or horizontal drilling;
- Inclusion of a substation at Port Hedland Power Station.

APPLICATION FOR DEVELOPMENT APPROVAL FOR AMENDED TEMPORARY WORKFORCE ACCOMMODATION – LOT 2 (NO. 15) DEMPSTER STREET, PORT HEDLAND
The Town of Port Hedland has received a development application for amended temporary workforce accommodation on Lot 2 (No. 15) Dempster Street, Port Hedland.
The proposed amendment includes a five year extension of the current approved period from 30 April 2028 to 30 April 2033.

Application for Spoilbank Marina Playground Naming – Kurlu Kurlu Wirri – Little People Play
The Town of Port Hedland (the Town) is proposing the following naming of Spoilbank Marina Playground.
Proposed Name: Kurlu Kurlu Wirri
‘Kurlu Kurlu Wirri’ has been provided by Kariyarra Aboriginal Corporation as it means ‘little people play’ in Kariyarra Language.
