Intention to Levy Differential Rates FY 2026/27
The Council endorsed the Town’s Notice of Intention to Levy Differential Rates for advertising at the April Ordinary Council Meeting.
The Town’s Proposed Rate in the Dollar and Minimum Payment by Rate Group are set out below.
This represents a 5% increase for all Rate Groups, except Residential, which remains at a 0% increase.
These increases allow the Town to raise $92,338,214 based on current property valuations to fund the 26/27 Annual Budget.
The value of properties in the Town is determined independently by the Valuer-General, called Landgate.
The 26/27 Annual Budget proposes maintaining current service levels and programming, continuing to renew and maintain the Town’s extensive Infrastructure, and planning and funding the exciting new Community Infrastructure projects.
The Notice of Intention to Levy Differential Rates strives for transparency, equity and administrative efficiency in the rating process.
The Town invites submissions from Ratepayers with respect to the proposed rates. All submissions must be received no later than 9am Monday 25 May 2026, to be considered as part of the final rating strategy.
Submissions should be addressed to the Chief Executive Officer, via email council@porthedland.wa.gov.au or mail to Town of Port Hedland, PO Box 41, Port Hedland WA 6721
