Lodging An Application – Forms And Fees

Every builder and owner builder intending to construct, alter, add to, repair or underpin, demolish or remove an existing building should obtain a permit before commencing that work.

Application Forms

Application forms for permits, notices and certificates can be downloaded from the Forms and Publications section of the Building and Energy website. The correct form must be used, be completed in full and contain the necessary attachments.

Other Forms for Builders

Notice of Cessation of Builder form - where the builder nominated on the Permit is no longer carrying out the proposed work

Notice of Change of Builder Form - where the owner notifies a change of builder to that nominated on the Permit

Application for Extension of Time - extend time during which the Permit has effect. To be lodged prior to the expiry date of the Permit

Notice of Completion - required within 7 days of completion of the work or the stage of the work, to which the permit is granted.

Fees and levies for applications are payable at time of lodgement. You can determine your application fees by using the fee calculator below. Payments can be made by cash, cheque, credit card or bank transfer. If your option is credit card of bank transfer, please indicate this option with your application and you will be contacted for payment when your application arrives in our office.

Any person or business considering the purchase of a property can obtain a building approvals list and details of any health and building orders associated with a specific property.  Where copies of plans are requested, the owner/s of the building must sign the form or provide written consent.
