Renowned Australian artists will converge on Port Hedland as part of a new major music and arts event encompassing six days of entertainment.
The Town of Port Hedland is proud to launch Odyssea Hedland Music and Arts Journey, bringing Australia’s most prolific artists and national treasures to the Civic Centre Gardens from Friday 18 - Sunday 27 August 2023.

Famous Sharron

Peter Combe

Adele Oliver
Adele Oliver is a singer-songwriter from Broome, Western Australia.
Having spent the majority of her life in the Kimberley, her songs are heavily influenced by the rugged landscapes she calls home. Adele blends folk, alt country and acoustic blues with soothing and intimate vocals.

Ningaloo Records
Josh Grainger is a Fremantle based dj, record collector and the head honcho at Ningaloo Records. Can be found passionately presenting educational dance floors every weekend in bars and clubs through Perth.

South Summit
South Summit are an exciting and emerging band hailing from the West Coast of Australia. Music has brought these young lads together from all walks of life. Josh, a Kamilaroi/Yuin man (New South Wales), Zaya & Nemo, brothers from Erub Islands (Torres Straits) & Maori (New Zealand), along with Nathan & Fynn are proud to present their different cultures and demonstrate how music can unite people no matter where you come from.

King Stingray
King Stingray is a story of lifelong friendship and two cultures coming together. Growing up together in Yirrkala in North-East Arnhem Land, founding members Yirrnga Yunupingu (frontman) and Roy Kellaway (guitar) have been playing and making music together for as long as they can remember.

Tina Zando
Born in Zimbabwe and bred in the UK, Tina Zando is dropping jaws across Perth with her incredible set of pipes.

Jon Pinder

Grace Barbe

Dan is known for his characteristic vocals. Loud and Honest. Drawing heavy influences from beloved artists like Tom Waits and The Black Keys.

Janelle Koenig
Janelle is a highly accomplished comedian, a mediocre guitarist and a mum. Her unique blend of honest stand-up, cheeky songs and sometimes far too personal tales about all aspects of her own life have made her a favourite amongst Australian audiences.

Brodi Snook
Winner of Chortle’s 2020 Best Newcomer award, Brodi Snook has been making waves across the UK and Australian comedy circuits since 2014. Hailing from small town Western Australia, Brodi began her stand-up career as a two-time RAW Comedy state finalist.

Abbe May
Abbe is a multi award-winning artist, she is one of the strong women of the Australian music industry with much respect across radio, blogs and venues around the country.
Soukouss Internationale
This multicultural collective of performers showcases the utter infectiousness of high-energy African song and dance. It’s always an authentic, colourful and energetic show celebrating the iconic Congolese musical style known as ‘soukouss’.

When is the event?

Where is the event?
The event will take place at Port Hedland Civic Centre Garden
13 McGregor St, Port Hedland WA 6721
Where will the entrance be?
The entrance to all ticketed events will be out the front of the Civic Gardens adjecent the pool and council building at 13 McGregor St, Port Hedland WA 6721. Entry will not be available along the boardwalk or waterside of the event site.
The entrance for both free events on Sunday will be from either out the front of the Civic Gardens adjecent the pool and council building or via the boardwalk.
How can we travel to the event?
Travelling to the event via the following options is recommended and highly encouraged:
- Walking
- Cycling
- Car pooling
- Shuttle Bus (There will be a shuttle bus from South Hedland)

Information will be updated closer to the event to ensure it is accurate and applicable to the event.
Odyssea will operate under whatever government regulations are required on the date of the event. We look forward to keeping the community safe.
What should we bring?
We encourage all attendees to BYO picnic blanket, picnic chairs, cup, cutlery, plates and bowls to reduce waste.
King Stingray event on Saturday 19 August will be standing room only. No chairs or picnic blankets will be permitted.
Kids Day Out will have an activation involving paint, please dress children accordingly.
Attendance for under 18
Odyssea will be presenting a wide-ranging series of events all catered for a different crowd. Parental supervision and guidance is recommended for all ticketed events as the event site will be licensed.
All minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian when in licensed areas. Security and event staff will be checking identification and proof of age for entry to licensed areas.
Do I need a copy of my ticket?
All patrons will need to present a purchased ticket for entry to all ticketed events. No tickets will be required for free events on Sunday.
Can I purchase tickets at the gate?
If there are tickets available, tickets can be purchased at the event. It is strongly encouraged to purchase tickets as soon as possible.
Are there early bird tickets?
Yes, tickets will be cheaper the earlier you book. Check the event details for more information!
What proof of age will be accepted?
The following proof of age documents will be accepted:
• A current Australian driver’s license
• A current passport
• Proof of age card
Can I bring my own food and drink?
There will be a variety of food and drinks available to purchase at the event. No glass bottles or containers will be allowed on site and single-use plastic will not be made available. There is strictly no alcohol to be brought onto the event site and all bags and drink containers will be searched.
Will there be seating available at the event?
There will be limited seating available at the event. It is encouraged to leave provided seats for those with mobility issues that require seats.
Can you smoke at the event?
This is a smoke free event. Dedicated smoking area accessible from the event area.
