Loco Lounge adds new dimension to Hedland's favourite carnival

Published on Friday, 7 July 2023 at 9:50:43 AM

It’s Hedland’s favourite carnival and this year’s Spinifex Spree promises to be bigger and better than ever.

The annual festival on 28-29 July will feature an array of family-friendly activities.

This year’s carnival has an added attraction with the new Loco Lounge providing an exclusive ticketed event that will include aerial acts, entertainment plus a cabaret show that’s strictly for the adults.

Mayor Peter Carter said Spinifex Spree was a much-loved carnival and all the carnival favourites would be back in 2023.

“There’ll be amusement rides through to interactive activities, live performances as well as retail stalls, community groups and your favourite food vendors," Mayor Carter said.

“And of course, the fireworks show will return which is always very popular.”

Spinifex Spree is a free event; however the ticketed Loco Lounge adds a new dimension to the carnival.

“The Loco Lounge will feature circus shows, live performances and entertainment, plus a pop-up bar."

Mayor Carter said events like Spinifex Spree were part of the Town’s commitment to providing quality events for the whole community.

“Events like Spinifex Spree help increase liveability and help make Hedland a more attractive place for people to work and live,” he said.

The Spinifex Spree is proudly supported by the Town of Port Hedland, BHP, Horizon Power, Monadelphous, Pilbara Ports Authority, Cleanaway, ESS Gateway Village, QUBE and Fuelfix.
