Community Feedback

The Town of Port Hedland often develops plans and strategies that set the framework for our future work. In addition, we often need community feedback on ideas we have for new buildings or projects. You'll find the topics we are currently seeking feedback on below.

Public open space and street tree strategy

The Town of Port Hedland is reviewing its Public Open Space Strategy. We're looking at how our parks and other open spaces are performing and will come up with recommendations for improvement. We will also be looking at how we can green the Town of Port Hedland through street tree planting.

The Ngalikuru Kuma-Marri Plan 2024-2028 (Hedland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnership Plan) sets the intention of the Town of Port Hedland to work together with our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities of Hedland in a meaningful, collaborative and cooperative manner.

Draft Rating Strategy 2024

The proposed rating strategy for ratepayer and community stakeholder feedback is to inform the drafting of the Town’s revised long-term financial plan and in turn the 2024-2025 annual budget. It seeks to establish a dedicated approach towards partially funding the Town’s forward new capital works program.

Feedback will be collated and presented to Council as part of planned budget preparation workshops ahead of the intended regulatory requirements for local public notice of the intention to levy differential rating planned for May 2024.
