The Town of Port Hedland’s 2022 pre-cyclone green waste pick-up has been completed.

Fifty-six truckloads made up of 153 tonnes of green waste was removed from Port and South Hedland as part of the free kerbside collection program.

As a result, 108 tonnes of mulch – 325 cubic metres – has been created for the public to use, free of charge. The mulch is located at the Cooke Point Stand Pipe in Port Hedland and Dreamers Corner in South Hedland.

Forty-five tonnes of non-mulchable green waste was taken to landfill to be repurposed on-site.
