The Town of Port Hedland will commence road works on Sutherland Street at Oceanus Court and Bell Street intersections.
The road works will consist of demolishing the existing chicanes and replacing them with traffic calming flat top plateaus.
The work is being completed in conjunction with a planned reduction in the speed limit to 50kph, to bring it in line with the surrounding built up area.
The road works are scheduled to commence on Tuesday 30 April, starting at Oceanus Court intersection and conclude Saturday 4 May.
The road works will require traffic control on Sutherland Street from 8am to 5pm including detours (Figures 1-2).
Works will improve the effectiveness of traffic calming devices on Sutherland Street, resulting in safer driving conditions and an improved road user experience.
Please be advised that care is being taken by the Town of Port Hedland and our contractors to minimise the impact to the community.
