Tree treatment in the West End

Published on Friday, 18 February 2022 at 8:24:09 AM

The Town will be spraying trees along Anderson Street, Richardson Street, Edgar Street, Wedge Street and McKay Street in Port Hedland’s West End to reduce the likelihood of termite and/or ant damage.

Recently, approximately 10 newly planted paperbark trees died as a result of likely termite damage.

The intention to spray directly onto the mulch and the ground in the area will help to protect both newly planted paperbarks and more established trees.

The Town intends to purchase and replant trees that are missing, damaged or have been destroyed in the area.

Please be mindful of workers and machinery in the area during this time.
