Grants Information Sessions Spotlight Funding

Published on Monday, 25 February 2019 at 2:36:51 PM

The Town will be holding two grant information sessions in March, exploring current and upcoming grant availability to organisations across Hedland.

Session one will be held on Thursday, 7 March from 10.30am-11am in the Civic Centre Chambers.

Session two will be held on Tuesday, 19 March from 6.00pm-6.30pm in the JD Hardie Youth Zone in South Hedland.

The revised Town of Port Hedland Grants Policy delivers more funding for community groups and organisations to apply for, appealing to a greater cross section of people.

Some of the grant categories include: Special Events, Community Arts and Culture, Community Development, Business and Tourism, and Seed Funding.

Mayor Camilo Blanco said the new strategy recognises greater diversity.

“Community grants are an effective way for local organisations to receive the support and guidance they need.

“This year’s targeted funding ensures the specific needs of different community organisations are met.

“I encourage as many people as possible to attend an information session, as you’ll pick up helpful tips in an accessible venue, with light refreshments provided.”
