From Monday 31 January, proof of vaccination requirements will expand to apply to venues and events statewide, including at new higher risk venues.

The Town’s operations are adapting to this state government mandate, with the following changes confirmed:

  • Proof of vaccination will be required for all patrons of the Matt Dann Theatre and Cinema from Monday 31 January.
  • Proof of vaccination will be required for all patrons of Wanangkura Stadium and Gratwick Fitness Centre from Monday 31 January.

The mandate is expected to impact more Town venues and operations into the future.

Community members are asked to please be respectful and kind to staff at Town facilities, who may request you to show proof of vaccination from Monday 31 January.

Help Hedland stay Covid safe by downloading the ServicesWA app and always check in where required, follow state government mask wearing mandates, keep hands washed and sanitised, maintain social distancing at all times, cover coughs and sneezes with your elbow and do not enter Town facilities or events if you are unwell.

Mayor Peter T Carter encouraged local residents to Help Hedland stay Covid safe by following the public health advice.

“With Covid case numbers increasing in Perth, we need to be vigilant and prepared for the possible spread of the virus in our community in the near future.

“We’ve done remarkably well compared to other parts of the world when it comes to managing Covid, however now is the time to make sure we’re checking in to boost the state’s contract tracing capabilities and show proof of vaccination when required.

“From Monday 31 January, proof of vaccination will be required for patrons of the Matt Dann Theatre and Cinema, Wanangkura Stadium and Gratwick Fitness Centre.

“I’d like to thank the community for following the public health advice and cooperating with the Town as we adapt our operations moving forward to keep our community Covid safe.”
