Community members are invited to attend the official opening of the new, inclusive playground at Port Hedland’s Gratwick Aquatic Centre, this Saturday 19 December from 10am.

Entry to Gratwick Aquatic Centre will be free from 10am to 1pm for all patrons in celebration of the occasion.

The morning will feature a ribbon cutting, cake, free barbecue from 11:30am to 12:30pm, and aquatic inflatables for the whole family to enjoy.

Mayor Peter Carter welcomed the completion of the playground’s construction.

“The brand new playground at the Gratwick Aquatic Centre features improved accessibility and a number of exploratory elements for the littlies to discover, such as Frankie the Fish and a ship on the high seas.

“I’m pleased the Town has delivered on the annual playground renewal program, as detailed in the annual budget.

“I encourage everyone to come along to the morning, which will feature a range of family activities to enjoy: the perfect way to cool off and cap off the year before the festive season.”
