Cassia Footbridge Renewal Project Widens Access

Published on Thursday, 10 January 2019 at 9:22:17 AM

The Town of Port Hedland will be performing footbridge renewal works near Cassia Primary School in South Hedland.

Works will involve the demolition and replacement of three pedestrian footbridges over the open drainage network adjacent to Cassia Primary School.

The new steel bridge structures are wider, providing more room for pedestrians compared to the existing concrete bridges.

Works are scheduled to commence from 16 January for approximately five weeks, concluding in February 2019.

Please see below for the schedule of works, which may be subject to change:

  • Footbridge 1: works occurring between 16 - 26 January 2019
  • Footbridge 2: works occurring between 26 January - 2 February 2019
  • Footbridge 3: works occurring between 30 January - 9 February 2019

Care is being Taken by the Town of Port Hedland and Contractors to minimize disruption to the community.

Please exercise caution around these areas and observe alternative pedestrian routes as detailed in the diagram below.

We appreciate your patience over the course of this project. For further information, please contact the Town of Port Hedland on 9158 9300.
