Emmy Award Winner and three time Grammy nominated recording artist, Toni Childs, will be performing her Retrospective Tour at the Matt Dann Theatre and Cinema on Saturday 25 May at 7.30pm.
The two hour show celebrates Toni’s classic hits from the 80s and 90s, as well as her new and innovative material which showcases her independent spirit.
Toni’s 1989 Union reached number one on the New Zealand Charts, with House of Hope reaching number four on the ARIA Charts in 1991.
Mayor Camilo Blanco welcomed the news of Toni coming to Hedland, pointing to her success as an internationally acclaimed artist.
“With fan bases in over 50 countries, Toni’s style as a powerful and resonant artist has captivated audiences around the World for 30 years.
“Having opened for the music great Bob Dylan, her evanescent music continues to withstand the test of time and stand out in the industry.
Mayor Blanco commended the Matt Dann Theatre and Cinema for attracting high calibre talent to their programming schedule.
“The Matt Dann Theatre and Cinema continues to offer diverse live performance for all age groups year round, exposing locals to acts of an international standard.
“I would encourage everyone to attend the show on 25 May, as it’s a wonderful opportunity to get up close and personal with such a monumental talent.”
