Have a Try Night is back for for 2019!
The Town of Port Hedland proudly presents Have a Try Night 2019, a popular FREE event on the Hedland calendar. The evening is an opportunity for young people aged 5 - 17 to try out a number of different sporting codes which are run across Town, introducing them to range of options to live a healthy and active life. Sports on offer will include soccer, cricket, basketball, netball, hockey and more. It's also an opportunity for clubs to raise awareness of their activities and drive membership. If young people enjoy a particular sport on the night, they'll be able to inquire about membership with representatives from the club.
When and where is Have a Try Night?
Have a Try Night will be held on Friday, 29 March 2019 from 4.15pm to 6pm at Wanangkura Stadium and Kevin Scott Oval in South Hedland. Participants are asked to please meet at Wanangkura stadium so your registration for the evening can be marked off.
What ages is the Night for?
Please be advised that this event for AGES 5 - 17 ONLY.
What should I bring along?
Please ensure your child brings along a water bottle, hat and sunscreen, as it will still be quite hot at the commencement of the evening. A towel would also be advisable for sweat!
What should my child wear?
Please ensure your child / children are wearing clothes appropriate for active sports activities, as well as closed in shoes which are suitable for playing and running
What should I expect when I arrive?
When you arrive, please proceed to Wanangkura Stadium to have your child / children's name marked off. They will then designated into groups based on their ages, and will then have the opportunity to go and try the different sports on offer, and of course have plenty of fun!
