BARRACKING FOR THE UMPIRE by Andrea Gibbs

Presented by Matt Dann Theatre & Cinema and Black Swan State Theatre Company Production

After two hugely successful Perth seasons, Barracking for the Umpire now comes to Port Hedland as part of its 2024 regional tour.

This family drama tackles head-on the fragility of the human body and the impacts of the great game on our players, our family, and our community. Donnybrook Football Club is set to honour its greatest son – Doug Williams. Hard as flint. Salt of the earth.

Wife, Delveen, by his side, riding every bump with him. Feeling every head knock. All the kids are flying home to join the celebration.

But after years of the game he loves, the sure hands of Williams are starting to fumble the ball.
