The Town will start the 2020/21 road reseal program on Wednesday 23 September, with a projected conclusion date of Tuesday 13 October.
The first roads to be impacted will be Carr Court and Kybra Close in South Hedland, delivering over 150 tonnes of asphalt to improve road usability.
The program is part of the Town’s commitment to reinvest in Hedland’s core infrastructure assets, providing drivers with a connected and well maintained road network.
Hon. Commissioner Fred Riebeling AM JP said the program was part of the Town’s 2020/21 $2.3 million budget allocation for road resealing.
“I’d like to commend the Town for spearheading the 2020/21 road reseal program, set to build on the positive steps we’ve taken in recent years to upgrade Hedland’s road network.
“Over 3,800 tonnes of asphalt will be laid on roads across Hedland in September and October, giving residents and businesses a high standard of road amenity.
“I ask all road users to slow down around road works, abide by signage and be mindful of workers in the vicinity of impacted roads.”
