Published on Friday, 12 June 2020 at 10:11:16 AM

Applications for the Town's COVID-19 Assistance Grants close midnight, Friday 19 June 2020, providing local businesses and community organisations with the opportunity to apply for funding to alleviate economic hardship caused by COVID-19 restrictions.

The Town has allocated $360,000 for eligible not-for-profit organisations in the Community Group Assistance Fund, and $625,000 for eligible small businesses in the Support Local Business Fund. Each grant application is capped at $10,000 each.

To apply for the Community Group Assistance Fund, your organisation must be a registered not-for-profit and incorporated (under Association Incorporation Act 2015), or auspiced by an incorporated association. To apply for the Support Local Business Fund, your organisation must be a registered for-profit organisation or business permanently operating in Port Hedland.

Applying for a grant can be a daunting prospect, however the Town's Smarty Grants portal makes it easy to submit your application. However, it's important to keep in mind what items are eligible and ineligible for funding: see below for a handy guide.
