The Port Hedland RSL will hold the Anzac Day Dawn Service from 5.30am, Monday 25 April at the Port Hedland War Memorial.

Anzac Day is a day of national remembrance, commemorating all Australians and New Zealanders who have served and died in all wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations.

All Service attendees are encouraged to physically distance where possible, follow COVID safety directions and remain home if unwell.

Public parking is available along Anderson Street, the Esplanade car park near the War Memorial and along Wedge Street.

The muster will be held from 5.30am and the Service starts at 5.40am. From 9.00am, a fellowship and barbecue will be held at the RSL, ANZAC House, Hedditch Street South Hedland. Please note that proof of double vaccination is required for entry into ANZAC House.

Mayor Peter Carter encourages local residents to come along and commemorate Anzac Day.

“I’m pleased to invite the community to the Anzac Day Dawn Service from 5.30am, Monday 22 April at the Port Hedland War Memorial, a return to the traditional Service following previous years of COVID interruptions.”

“Anzac Day is a time for us all to pause and reflect on the sacrifices of the brave servicemen and women who have defended and preserved our freedoms for current and future generations to cherish.”

“Although COVID restrictions have eased, I ask all attendees to help Hedland stay COVID safe by maintaining physical distancing, keeping hands washed and sanitised and not attending if you’re unwell.”

“Thanks to the Port Hedland RSL for coordinating the event for the community.”
