Feedback sought on rates for 2025/26

Published on Wednesday, 21 May 2025 at 11:38:18 AM

Public feedback is sought on the Town’s Statement of Objects and Reasons for the 2025/26 rating year.

Under the proposed model, the average weekly increase for each property category will be:

Residential

$5.70

Commercial/Industrial $18.73
Mass Accommodation -$389.40
Pastoral/Other $30.63
Mining $229.08

The pensioner rate cap gap programme will be maintained with a proposed limit for 2025/26. Community groups and sporting clubs' rate concessions also remain.

The rates increase reflects a projected 6.84% increase in operational expenditure for the Town in the 2025/26 financial year.
