National Reconciliation Week 2025

Bridging Now to Next

National Reconciliation Week is a time for all Australians to learn more about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.

Every year, we celebrate National Reconciliation Week from 27 May till 3 June, commemorating two significant milestones – the successful 1967 referendum, and the High Court Mabo decision respectively.

The theme this year is, Bridging Now to Next, which reflects the ongoing connection between past, present and future.

Bridging Now to Next urges all Australians to work together, and to use past lesson to continue the push forward to help build a more unified and inclusive nation.

This year's artwork theme was created by Kalkadoon woman, Bree Buttenshaw, featuring native plants which are known for regenerating after fire and thriving through adversity − symbolising collective strength and the possibilities of renewal.
