The Town is seeking a reputable hospitality operator with proven experience in managing successful venues to reimagine the Yacht Club as a dynamic destination that celebrates Hedland’s unique coastal character.
The cherished waterfront venue has recently received a $2.1 million investment in refurbishment works from the Town, putting the iconic venue in a prime position while ensuring long-term viability.
The new operator will play a pivotal role in creating an offering that complements the Spoilbank Marina, delivering a high-quality experience that resonates with residents and visitors.
Chaz Roberts, Manager Planning and Economic Development at the Town said the revitalisation of the Yacht Club will support economic flow-on effects for Hedland, including job creation and increased local business activity while enhancing Hedland’s appeal as a lifestyle and tourism destination.
“By engaging a high-quality food and beverage operator, the Town aims to create a vibrant hub that strengthens community connections and enhance Port Hedland’s reputation as a thriving regional destination.”
“Having another high-quality food and beverage offering for our residents and visitors will be a major drawcard for our town, and we look forward to bringing this vision to life,” said Chaz.
The Yacht Club’s revitalisation is a cornerstone of the Town’s commitment to enhancing Port Hedland’s reputation as a thriving regional destination.
Refurbishment works, awarded by Council in July 2025, include landscaping, fencing, new turf, and building upgrades to deliver a fit-for-purpose facility.
The investment into these works will ensure long-term tenancy success and demonstrate a strong return on investment, as the successful operator will be able to operate a 700-person capacity venue, which has the potential to generate a strong financial return.
The Town looks forward to collaborating with a reputable operator to bring the Port Hedland Yacht Club back to life as a vibrant community hub.
