The Town of Port Hedland, in partnership with Nih Kaartdijin Mia and proudly sponsored by Bugarrba, is pleased to announce Bounce Back - a free, family friendly community wellbeing event taking place on Friday, 3 October.
Bounce Back is a celebration of Hedland’s resilience and community spirit. It provides a platform for local and national service providers to showcase their programs and engage with residents in a safe and supportive environment.
Held in conjunction with WA Mental Health Week, Bounce Back aims to promote mental health awareness, suicide prevention, and community connection across Hedland. This alcohol and drug free event is culturally inclusive, and open to all members of the community.
Attendees can look forward to a vibrant day of activities including free health checks provided by Binar Futures in partnership with Wirraka Maya, alongside a variety of mental health and wellbeing stallholders and community stalls.
The event will also feature raffles and prizes, fun activities, and free BBQs.
Football and basketball activations will be held for all ages, and special guest appearances will add to the excitement and engagement throughout the day.
“Bounce Back is about bringing our community together in a meaningful way,” said Alison Banks, Director Community Services at the Town of Port Hedland.
“It’s a chance to connect, support one another, and highlight the incredible services available to help people thrive - mentally, physically, and socially.”
The Town of Port Hedland is proud to be involved in this event alongside JD Hardie Youth and Community Hub, West Coast Eagles, Hedland Reds, Civeo Australia, Monadelphous, Fortescue, Royal Life Saving Society WA, Act Belong Commit, Wirraka Maya Health Service Aboriginal Corporation, North West Alliance, KingKira Group, Waru, 13YARN, Thorny Devil Access + Industries, Fair Game, Waalitj Hub, and many others who have contributed to making this event possible.
The Town encourages all residents to attend, and take part in this important day of connection, support, and celebration of community wellbeing.
