Another summer of live music has come to a close in Hedland, with the Always Good Nights summer series finishing on a high after four sold out shows and a packed finale at the Civic Centre Gardens.
Held across February to April, the 2026 series brought intimate, live music experiences to unique locations in Hedland, continuing to grow its reputation as a signature cultural event for the town.
Every show in the series sold out, with the final performance attracting more than 300 people to the Civic Centre Gardens, the largest crowd the series has seen to date.
Across the summer, audiences enjoyed performances from some of Australia’s most celebrated artists, including Christine Anu, Ella Hooper, Jack Botts and rising WA favourites South Summit. Each show transformed local venues into atmospheric live music spaces, from the Matt Dann Theatre & Cinema to outdoor settings that showcased Hedland under the stars.
Manager of Arts, Culture and Events Khristle Barr said the success of this year’s series reflected the Town’s ongoing focus on improving liveability and creating more opportunities for residents to connect through arts and culture.
“Always Good Nights continues to raise the bar each year,” Mrs Barr said.
“We’re seeing more people come out, more well known artists keen to play in Hedland, and a real sense of pride from the community. Events like this play an important role in making Hedland a great place to live, and it’s exciting to see how the series keeps growing and improving year after year.”
The series has become known for offering rare, up‑close experiences with artists who usually perform in much larger venues, while also shining a spotlight on local spaces and supporting Hedland businesses.
Major sponsor Pilbara Ports again played a key role in bringing the summer series to life. Pilbara Ports Executive General Manager Corporate Affairs Clare Lugar said the organisation was proud to support events that strengthen community connections.
“We are committed to supporting initiatives that bring people together and enhance community life in Hedland,” Ms Lugar said.
“Always Good Nights showcases the vibrancy of the town and offers residents the chance to experience nationally acclaimed artists right here at home.”
Since launching in 2024, Always Good Nights has continued to grow in both scale and profile, attracting larger audiences and increasingly high calibre performers each year. The sold out 2026 season highlights the strong appetite for live music and cultural experiences in Hedland, particularly during the summer months.
As the Town continues to invest in events that support liveability, connection and community pride, Always Good Nights is cementing its place as a much loved fixture on Hedland’s cultural calendar, and organisers say the future of the series is looking brighter than ever.
