Could your creativity put Port on the Pixel?

The Town is seeking submissions to compete in the 2022 WALGA #ShoWcAse in Pixels competition: this year's theme is embracing change!

As one of WA's largest ongoing community arts projects, this event is widely acknowledged as being one of the most colourful and vibrant displays throughout the year.

Your artwork could be the one selected to be screened at the iconic digital tower in the heart of Yagan Square, Perth CBD.

This is the first year video submissions are being accepted as part of the competition.

The competition has categories open to primary and high schools, community groups and professional digital artists.

Your design should be unique, bold, fun and reflect the following:

  • Relation to the convention theme: embracing change.
  • Identification of place: it must include the name of Port Hedland clearly.
  • Place: connection to Port Hedland. What in the artwork identifies it as Port Hedland? For example, the waterways that form the inner harbour (hand), the coastline, bulk ships, tug boats, turtles, the salt piles, the water tower, flora and fauna.

Please read the below documents to ensure your submission meets requirements.

All submissions need to be emailed to Catherine Driscoll, Project Officer Community Development, via cdriscoll@porthedland.wa.gov.au by 3:00pm Friday 15 July 2022.
