The Town of Port Hedland is committed to responsible land use planning to support sustainable growth, protect local character, and enhance the liveability of our community.
Our Planning team provides advice and support on zoning, development applications, subdivision proposals, and land use regulations.

Assessment Timeframes
In accordance with the Planning and Development (Local Planning Scheme) Regulations 2015, the Town is required to assess applications within the following statutory timeframes (beginning at 12:00 AM the day after a complete application and fee payment is received):

If further information is requested during the assessment process, the applicant has 21 calendar days to respond. Failure to provide this within the timeframe may result in the application being refused and fees retained.
In some cases, these timeframes may be adjusted by written agreement between the Town and the applicant.
Fees and Charges
Fees for planning applications are payable upon lodgement and vary depending on the type and value of the development. Payment can be made securely online through OneConnect.
