As the world marks World Food Safety Day on 7 June, the Town of Port Hedland is reaffirming its commitment to upholding high food safety standards to protect the health of our community.
World Food Safety Day highlights the importance of safe food practices and reinforces the message that food safety is a shared responsibility in preventing foodborne illness.
Environmental Health Officers from the Town work year-round to inspect local food businesses, provide education and guidance, and ensure compliance with national food safety regulations.
The Town encourages local businesses to remain up to date with their food licences and to seek support from the Environmental Health team if they’re unsure about regulations or best practices.
Additionally, community members are urged to report any concerns about suspected unsafe food handling to the Town, helping ensure all food outlets operate responsibly.
As we celebrate World Food Safety Day, the Town of Port Hedland extends its thanks to local food operators who continue to prioritise safe practices, and to our dedicated Environmental Health Officers who play a vital role in keeping our community safe, healthy, and informed.
