Pet registrations and renewals are going digital

Published on Friday, 21 August 2026 at 12:04:23 PM

The Town of Port Hedland is moving pet registrations and renewals online through OneConnect. If you own a pet, you'll need a OneConnect account to manage your pet registration and receive renewal reminders.

What's changing?

  • Pet registration renewal notices will no longer be sent by post.
  • Renewal reminders and updates will be sent to the email address linked to your OneConnect account.
  • If you don't have a OneConnect account, you may miss important reminders. This could result in your pet's registration expiring and penalties applying.

Why is it changing?

Moving pet registrations and renewals online will make it quicker and easier to manage your pet's registration. It will also help the Town keep pet records up to date, making it easier to reunite lost pets with their owners.

What do I need to do?
Option 1: “I don't have an online account, and my pet is not currently registered.”
  • Create a OneConnect account by clicking the registration link here
  • Once your account is active, you can register your pet and manage your registration details online by following the prompts.
Option 2: “My pet is already registered, but I don’t have an online account.”
  • Create a OneConnect account by clicking the registration link here
  • Contact customer experience on 08 9158 9300 between 8:00am-4:00pm, Monday to Friday to confirm your pets registration with your new online account.
Option 3: “I have an online account, but my pet isn’t registered to it”
Option 4: “I already have an online account and my pet is linked”
  • No action is required.
  • The Town will continue to send reminders, updates and registration notices to the email address associated with your OneConnect account.

Can I still pay cash?

Online payment is preferred, but cash payments are still accepted for pet registrations and renewals at:

  • Town of Port Hedland Civic Centre (McGregor Street)
  • Town of Port Hedland Libraries

What if I don't have access to a computer?

Free public computers are available at:

  • South Hedland Library
  • Port Hedland Library
