The Town of Port Hedland is proud to celebrate the success of the Hedland Volleyball Association, who recently competed in the Alcohol. Think Again WA Country State Championships 2025 with support from a $5,000 Community Champions Grant.

At the recent championships held on September 27th and 28th, the club’s teams won both the Men’s Division B and Women’s Division B competitions—an outstanding result that now qualifies them to register for the A Reserves level in next year’s State Championships. Adding to the excitement, player Justine Bowie was awarded Most Valuable Player (MVP) for the Women’s Division B.

“So over the moon. Thank you for the support. We just put Port Hedland on the Volleyball Map.” – Hedland Volleyball Association

This achievement is especially significant given the association’s short history, having been established just three years ago. The Town’s Community Champions Grant program is designed to support local organisations in reaching new heights, and this is a shining example of its impact.
