We're excited to announce that Gratwick Aquatic Centre will reopen for the season on Saturday, 26 September.
The facility's new opening times will be:

Opening times were aligned with community needs based on operational observations of peak demand over the last season.
South Hedland Aquatic Centre will remain the primary facility for early morning swimming, while Gratwick Aquatic Centre will provide additional capacity over the busier periods in the afternoon.
Gratwick Aquatic Centre's new opening hours balance existing bookings, scheduled training sessions, as well as organised competitions and swimming carnivals, to ensure ongoing support for club activities and continued access for the broader community.
Free Entry on the Day
To celebrate the reopening of the facility and the return of swimming weather, entry to Gratwick Aquatic Centre will be free for everyone on Saturday, 26 September – Keep an eye on our Facebook page for more information.
Free Entry all Summer
The reopening of Gratwick also marks the return of the Hedland Splash Free Entry Program, that provides free entry at all Town pools for children under 12, between 26 September 2026 and 25 April 2027.
Patrons are, however, reminded that the Standard Conditions of Entry and the Town's Watch Around Water Policy apply at all times, and children under 12 years must be supervised by a Responsible Adult.
