The Town of Port Hedland is inviting local businesses and community organisations to bring their ideas to life, with grants of up to $100,000 available through the Town's Economic Development and Diversification Fund.
The fund provides financial support for initiatives that increase economic activity, strengthen local business capability, expand services and improve liveability.
Whether it's testing a new business concept, expanding an existing operation, introducing a service currently unavailable in Hedland, or delivering a project that strengthens the local economy, the fund is designed to help turn ideas into action.
Mayor Jacinta Behrend says the funding is an investment in the businesses who enhance the liveability of Hedland.
"Behind every local business and community organisation are people who care deeply about our town and work hard to make it a better place with the services they provide.
"This funding opportunity is about empowering local businesses and organisations to continue the incredible work they do, while creating new opportunities that help our community grow and prosper," Mayor Behrend said.
The fund recently helped local business, Elevation Health expand into its own South Hedland premises, creating a dedicated space for physiotherapy and allied health services, improving access to healthcare services for the community.
The fund forms part of the Town's ongoing commitment to building a strong and resilient local economy by supporting projects that encourage business growth, attract investment and deliver long-term benefits for the community.
Applications are open year-round. Prospective applicants should discuss their project with the Town's Economic Development team and review the Town’s grant guidelines before applying.
