The Town of Port Hedland is encouraging residents to take part in the 2026 Garage Sale Trail - Australia's largest community reuse event, which is being introduced to Port Hedland for the first time.
Taking place over the second weekend of November, on 14 and 15 November 2026, Garage Sale Trail supports residents to buy, sell and reuse pre-loved items, helping reduce waste and extend the life of products that might otherwise end up in landfill.
The initiative complements the Town's sustainability objectives by promoting waste avoidance and encouraging practical actions that support a more circular economy. It also provides an opportunity for residents to declutter their homes, uncover bargains and connect with others in the community.
Households, schools, community groups and local organisations are invited to register a sale and join thousands of participants across Australia taking part in the national event.
Residents can register online and access free tools and resources to help promote and run their sale.
