Celebrate Hedland returns this week, bringing the community together at its new location, the JD Hardie Youth and Community Hub, for an afternoon and evening of connection, entertainment and local pride.
Set for Friday, 22 May, the much loved event will feature a full stage program of local performers, more than 60 stalls representing community groups, organisations, emergency services and local businesses, as well as a range of family-friendly activities and food vendors.
The new location provides a welcoming and accessible space for the community to come together and experience everything Hedland has to offer.
Town of Port Hedland Mayor, Jacinta Behrend, said Celebrate Hedland reflects the spirit and identity of the community.
“Celebrate Hedland is shaped by the people who call this Town home, and it’s partnerships like the one we share with Horizon Power that help us bring our community together,” she said.
“Their sponsorship allows us to create welcoming, accessible events where families, friends and neighbours can connect, celebrate and share the pride we all have in Hedland.
“Horizon Power’s commitment to regional communities reflects what we strive for as a Town, supporting events that encourage social connection, amplify local voices and showcase the unique culture, history and spirit that make Hedland such a special place to live.”
Celebrate Hedland invites the community to discover the best of Hedland in one place — from live performances by local creatives to family friendly activities, vibrant stallholders and opportunities to connect with community services, businesses and industry.
Entry to the event is free, with food, drinks and products available for purchase from local vendors. The event is designed to be welcoming and accessible for all, with a range of parking, seating and accessibility options available on site.
The Town encourages residents and visitors alike to come along, explore and get involved.
Celebrate Hedland is presented by the Town of Port Hedland and powered by Horizon Power, with support from Act Belong Commit, promoting positive mental health through staying active, connected and involved in the community.
