More than 2,000 people came together last Friday to celebrate everything that makes Hedland special at the annual Celebrate Hedland event, held for the first time at the JD Hardie Youth & Community Hub.
The vibrant event brought together local talent, businesses and community organisations, with more than 60 stallholders showcasing the very best Hedland has to offer. From career opportunities and community services to local products and initiatives, there was something for everyone to explore.
Families soaked up a lively afternoon, and evening packed with live entertainment, activities and plenty of ways to get involved, from basketball games to discovering local talent, services and opportunities all in one place.
The move to the JD Hardie Youth & Community Hub provided a welcoming and accessible new home for the event, creating a central space for the community to connect and enjoy the experience together. The new location reflected the Town’s commitment to listening to the community.
Delivered with the support of the Act Belong Commit initiative, the event also encouraged community members to stay mentally healthy by staying active, connected, and involved.
Celebrate Hedland continues to be a key event on the community calendar, giving residents the opportunity to connect, get involved and take pride in where they live.
