Two new food vendors will be bringing fresh flavours and a vibrant energy at the Marapikurrinya Park container pop-ups in the West End.

Following Council’s decision in February, Thai Style and Earth Sea and Treats have officially joined the pop-up initiative, playing a key role in revitalising public spaces and creating a dynamic, social environment in the heart of Port Hedland.

Earth Sea and Treats has secured a one-year licence with the option to renew, while Thai Style Cuisine has commenced operations on a six-month lease, also with the opportunity to extend.

Managed by the Town and funded by BHP, the pop-ups offer an opportunity for commercial and community ventures, welcoming various user groups on a short-term basis.

The flexible agreements are designed to support business sustainability and growth, ensuring the initiative evolves with community demand.

Cindy Dunham, BHP General Manager Port said: “It's fantastic to see the pop-up containers back in action with new tenants, just in time for the cooler weather.”

"Not only do they help small business and local jobs, they create a vibrant space for the community to connect, and bring new, family friendly dining options for everyone to enjoy."

"It's an important step for the future of the West End and something we're very pleased to support."

Mayor Peter Carter welcomed the new additions, emphasising the positive flow-on effects for the local economy and community.

“This is a great outcome for residents and visitors to Hedland as it enhances the diversity of our food offerings and contributes to the vibrancy of our local economy.”

“Providing additional dining options not only enhances the liveability of our town, but it also supports local businesses and creates new opportunities for employment.”

The inclusion of Thai Style and Earth Sea and Treats reflects Council’s ongoing commitment to supporting small business, activating key public spaces, and delivering unique experiences for the community.
