Two of WA’s rising music stars Siobhan Cotchin and Sophian will headline the 2025 Spinifex Spree Carnival, set to bring Port Hedland’s Town Oval alive on 25–26 July.
Presented by the Town of Port Hedland, the free entry event is Hedland’s biggest annual community celebration, drawing more than 10,000 people across two days of live music, amusement rides, food trucks, market stalls, and the crowd favourite - the fireworks finale.
“Spinifex Spree is one of the most loved and anticipated events in Port Hedland, and we’re excited to have such incredible WA talent on the main stage this year,” Mayor Peter Carter said.
“The carnival brings our whole community together to showcase the energy and creativity of our town.”
Siobhan Cotchin, known for her emotionally charged alt country rock, and Sophian, one of Perth’s fastest rising indie pop bands, will perform during the weekend along with an array of local performers throughout the event.
Also new for 2025 is Sun Runners – a high energy, interactive space adventure combining digital storytelling, immersive sound, and team-based gameplay. Described as “interactive theatre meets sci-fi mission,” Sun Runners will feature throughout the event.
Local favourites including the Eat Street food precinct, the bustling Marketplace, roving performers, community displays, Sideshow Alley and Saturday night fireworks at 8:00pm - all return again this year.
