2026 Live Show Programme

The Town’s Disaster Dashboard is an online portal that provides real-time access to vital information needed during emergencies such as cyclones. It also includes tools and information including: Interactive maps, road closures, weather warnings, cyclone information, fire danger and emergency contacts.

Port Hedland Leisure – Fitness for All

Port Hedland Leisure was launched in April 2019 with the objective of helping the community reach its health, fitness and wellness goals in a friendly and welcoming environment. We offer a range of gym, aquatic, group fitness and sporting programs and services, at the various facilities we manage in Port and South Hedland.

The JD Hardie Youth and Community Hub (JDHYCH) is the Town of Port Hedland's leading youth precinct. The state of the art building features a commercial kitchen, performing arts room, indoor court, meeting rooms and offices.

Looking for a new way to stay active outdoors? We've recently installed new exercise equipment at the corner of Sutherland Street, next to the Gratwick Aquatic Centre (GAC), providing another great space for the community to enjoy free outdoor fitness opportunities.

The new equipment was delivered as part of the Town's 2025/26 Annual Playground Renewal Program, with works completed in June 2026 by Active Discovery.

The location was carefully selected to improve accessibility, visibility and community use, replacing equipment previously located on Forrest Circle in South Hedland. The former site experienced low usage and ongoing vandalism, making relocation the best outcome for residents.

This project was delivered alongside the renewal of other exercise nodes along Forrest Circle and Murdoch Drive, helping to enhance active recreation opportunities across Hedland.

Whether you're looking to improve your fitness, stretch out after a swim, or enjoy some exercise in the fresh air, we encourage you to check it out!

What a weekend! From the incredible performances by Deva Mahal, PARK RD and our talented local artists, to the dazzling Saturday night fireworks, thrilling rides, delicious Eat Street vendors, bubble-filled fun and our new Quiet Hour initiative, Spinifex Spree truly had something for everyone. 🎶🎆🎠🫧

A huge thank you to everyone who attended, performed, volunteered, exhibited and helped make Hedland’s largest, free community celebration such a success. ❤️

Exciting progress is being made on the JD Hardie Adventure Park, with construction now more than 50% complete.

Delivered by Byblos Constructions alongside specialist track builders Common Ground Trails and Three Chillies, the BMX pump track, jump track and activity park are beginning to take shape and bring years of planning to life.

Once complete, the Adventure Park will provide a vibrant, family-friendly recreation space that complements the existing JD Hardie Youth and Community Hub, creating new opportunities for outdoor activity, social connection and active lifestyles in Hedland.

The Town thanks Lotterywest and the Department of Creative Industries, Tourism and Sport Community Sporting and Recreation Facilities Fund (CSRFF) through PlayOnWA for their valuable support in helping deliver this exciting community asset.
