Your Voice Matters: Voting packs arrive for the Local Government election

Voters enrolled in the Port Hedland Local Government election will start receiving voting packs this week and can cast their vote by posting or dropping their ballot papers at one of the two voting stations established this week.

Chair of Commissioners, Jessica Shaw, is encouraging community members to vote as early as possible and said, “With the election being conducted by post, it’s incredibly important voters complete and return their ballot papers as soon as possible to ensure their vote counts.”

Between now and Friday, 27 March, voters can use the return envelope to post completed ballot papers or place them in ballot boxes located at the Civic Centre or South Hedland Library during business hours. Alternatively, voters can visit these same locations on Election Day between 8am and 6pm and vote in person.

Residents and owner-occupiers who have not received their voting packs by mail, or who have lost or damaged them, can request replacement ballot papers at the Civic Centre or South Hedland Library.

Candidates who have nominated for the election are listed in the voting packs. The Town of Port Hedland also provides candidate profiles at both libraries and on the Town's website.
