Indigenous Literacy Day
Wednesday 2nd September 2026
Join the Town of Port Hedland Libraries and Orica Mining Services for a free, family-friendly, community event on Wednesday, 2 September from 9:30-11:30am at South Hedland Library.
There will be a range of activities for the whole community, including:
- Community Stalls
- Kids activities
- Face Painting
- Storytelling
- Giveaways
- BBQ
- Live Music
This annual national event celebrates Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' stories, cultures, and languages while raising awareness for educational equity in remote communities. To Learn more, head over to: ilf.org.au
