The official reopening of the Gratwick Aquatic and Fitness Centre will take place on Saturday 19 September from 8am, giving community members a flagship leisure facility to enjoy leading into the summer season.

This free community event will feature a BBQ, inflatables and an aqua run, sunset yoga in the Civic Centre Gardens at 5:30pm (BYO mat) and giveaways throughout the day. The official ribbon cutting and speech by Hon. Commissioner Fred Riebeling AM JP will take place at 8am.

The facility has undergone extensive renovation works, including the installation of state of the art Technogym fitness equipment and virtual fitness classes to raise the bar of the membership experience.

Hon. Commissioner Fred Riebeling AM JP encouraged community members to come along to the opening day to see the facility’s improvements firsthand.

“I’m pleased Port Hedland Leisure’s Gratwick Aquatic and Fitness Centre are reopening to the community on Saturday 19 September, giving members a modern and accessible space to reach their health and fitness goals.

“Following a period of closure and refurbishments, the Town has successfully upgraded the site into a fit for purpose facility which delivers on the community’s passion for securing the aquatic centre’s and gym’s longevity.

“We’ve decommissioned the dive pool and constructed a new shaded family area in its place, where visitors can gather and relax while soaking up the ocean views.

Technogym is world-renowned for constructing top of the line fitness equipment, incorporating cutting edge technology into treadmills, ellipticals, bikes and more.

“There’s also space for group fitness classes, allowing members the opportunity to boost their fitness regime and participate in a diverse selection of classes that fit into their schedule.

“I look forward to seeing everyone there on the day.”
