Local residents are reminded that the After Hours Drop Off Area out the front of South Hedland Landfill is for domestic after-hours use only.
Skip bins are provided for general waste, scrap metal, green waste and tyres. Waste must be placed inside the skips bins only, not left on the ground around the bins, to leave the area safe for other users. Please comply with all signage in the area.
The After Hours Drop Off Area is closed during landfill operating hours. South Hedland Landfill operating hours are:
- Weekdays: 7:30am to 4.30 pm (last entry before 4:15pm)
- Saturdays and public holidays: 8am to 4pm (last entry before 3:45pm)
- Sunday: Closed (please use After Hours Drop Off Area)
When landfill is open customers should proceed through the front gates to the weighbridge, where you will be directed to the appropriate location to dispose of your waste.
It is free of charge for residents to dispose of most domestic wastes at South Hedland Landfill. However fees may be charged to residents disposing of commercial quantities of general waste, asbestos, and tyres.
Commercial operators are strictly prohibited from disposing of waste in the After Hours Drop Off Area.
