Join us for the march to end violence in families

  • Statistically, women in regional and remote Australia are more likely than women in urban areas to experience domestic and family violence

  • A woman in Australia is murdered by her current or former partner every week

  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women are 34 times more likely to be hospitalised due to family violence compared with other Australian women

On Friday 22 November, Hedland will come together to say domestic and family violence will not be tolerated in our community. The march will take place in South Hedland, starting at Centenary Park on Leake Street at 7am.

Community organisations, families and individuals will march around the block, with a barbecue breakfast served afterwards. Please be advised that Leake Street will be partially closed from 6am to 10am.

The march is coordinated by the Hedland Family Violence Action Group.
