Update your details on the electoral roll

Published on Monday, 14 March 2022 at 5:56:12 PM

The Town of Port Hedland is holding an Extraordinary Election on Friday 20 May 2022 to fill one vacant position for Councillor.

This is a postal election, therefore it is important that electors’ details are up to date via the Australian Electoral Commission’s website.

Ballot papers will be mailed to electors from late April.

The electoral roll closes 5pm Thursday 31 March 2022.

Mayor Peter Carter encouraged local residents to make sure their details were up to date on the electoral roll.

“We’re holding an Extraordinary Election on Friday 20 May 2022 to fill one vacant position for Councillor, due to the resignation of a former Councillor in February.

“I encourage all eligible electors to make sure their details are up to date on the electoral roll, especially since this is a postal election.

“Voting in local government elections ensures your voice is heard and represented on Council.”
