Hedland Splash is back for the 2025-26 Summer season, providing free entry for kids under 12 at both Gratwick Aquatic Centre and South Hedland Aquatic Centre.
The Town of Port Hedland supported by Fortescue are ensuring families can continue to access local aquatic facilities throughout the summer months.
Since the program began in late September 2025, more than 8,000 visits by kids under 12 have been recorded across both pools, highlighting the strong uptake and value of the program for local families.
Fortescue’s Director Approvals, Communities and Services, Rosli Wheelock, emphasised the importance of the program for the Hedland community.
“Hedland Splash makes a real difference for local families, especially over the long Pilbara Summer. Free access removes a cost barrier and gives kids a place to be active, cool off and spend time with friends.”
The Town is focused on creating inclusive welcoming spaces for the community and providing opportunities for children and families to stay active and connected over summer. Click here to learn more about this initiative.
