The Town of Port Hedland is delighted to invite the community to a special, free event featuring Australian cricket icon David Boon.
David is one of the most enduring and admired figures in cricket history—Tough, tenacious, and unflinchingly loyal to his team and state, Boon played for both Tasmania and Australia over a career spanning nearly two decades, and was Australia’s second-highest Test run scorer at the time of his retirement.
Boon continued to shape Australian cricket as a selector and then ICC Elite Match Referee after this retirement, before accepting a position on the board for Cricket Australia this year to oversee the game at its highest levels.
On Thursday, 23 October, Wanangkura Stadium in South Hedland will host David Boon at the Luncheon with Legends, where he'll share stories from his career, touching on themes of resilience, leadership, and teamwork.
Q&A, photo opportunities and refreshments will also be available after the talk.
