South Hedland Landfill to Place Temporary Embargo on Commercial Tyre Disposal

Published on Friday, 2 February 2018 at 12:00:00 AM

The Town of Port Hedland will place a temporary embargo on the acceptance of commercial tyres for disposal from Monday 5 February.

The embargo, which is expected to last for six weeks, has been implemented as a temporary measure while the Town assesses its procedure for storage and processing of its existing stockpiles, which are now at a critical level.

Domestic tyres will continue to be accepted for disposal during this period, with a maximum of four tyres allowed per domestic user.

The Town of Port Hedland will provide further updates on the process and the date the embargo is expected to be lifted.
